The Faculty boasts a robust research capacity, anchored by seven specialized research units: the Institute of Foreign Literature, the Institute of Translation Studies, the Institute of Theoretical Linguistics, the Institute of Applied Linguistics, the Institute of Comparative Literature and Intercultural Communication, the Institute of Japanese Language, Literature, and Culture, and the Institute of German Language, Literature, and Culture. These institutes collectively position the Faculty as a pivotal research hub for "Foreign Language and Literature" within Zhejiang Province's humanities and social sciences landscape.

In addition, the Faculty has forged a collaborative partnership with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences to establish the "Research Center for Foreign Languages and Cultures in the Context of Ningbo's International Development Strategy". This center further enhances our research capabilities and fosters deeper understanding of international dynamics.

Furthermore, the Faculty is home to the Zhejiang Academy of Translation, which nurtures a vibrant and enriching environment for linguistic and cultural studies.
