Program Objectives: Our program aims to cultivate professionals who possess firm ideals and beliefs, a correct worldview and values, a strong sense of social responsibility, robust psychological qualities, high cultural and literary-artistic attainments, perseverance and a spirit of hard work. These individuals will have a solid foundation in Japanese language and literature, a profound humanities background, and strong comprehensive Japanese language skills. The program is designed to meet the needs of China's cultural exchanges with Japan, national and local economic and social development, various foreign-related industries, as well as Japanese language education and academic research. Program Highlights: Our Japanese program stands as a nationally recognized top-tier discipline, honored as a first-class major at both the national and Zhejiang provincial levels, a four-star major across China, a key focus of Ningbo University, and a distinctive offering within Ningbo City. The faculty comprises 19 dedicated teachers, including 1 professor, 3 associate professors, and 15 lecturers, with 10 holding doctoral degrees. Boasting diverse academic backgrounds enriched by overseas study or educational experiences, our faculty is well-equipped to foster student growth and development.
Furthermore, our program has forged friendly exchange partnerships with 12 esteemed institutions, notably Tokyo University of Foreign Studies and Hiroshima University, facilitating student exchanges. We've also established a graduate recommendation system with Kansai University and co-developed online courses with Tokushima University, enabling seamless virtual collaboration, teaching, and cultural exchange with Japanese university students.
Employment and Further Education Opportunities: Graduates of our Japanese program typically secure positions in state-owned enterprises, foreign enterprises, government departments, secondary schools, reputable educational training institutions, and foreign trade companies. The overall rate of further education, including overseas studies, stands at approximately 23%. Our alumni frequently advance their studies at esteemed institutions such as Peking University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Shanghai International Studies University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, East China Normal University, as well as leading universities abroad like the University of Tokyo, Kyushu University, Hiroshima University, and Kansai University.
