The Master's Degree Program in German Language and Literature, established in 2014 with authorization from the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, stands as a pillar of academic excellence within the field. Anchored by the esteemed "Foreign Languages and Literatures Literature" research hub for humanities and social sciences in Zhejiang's higher education institutions, and bolstered by the German Language and Literature and Culture Research Institute, our program is dedicated to nurturing top-tier professionals in German literary and cultural research, as well as education.
Over the past five years, our program has showcased its research prowess through more than 20 publications in prestigious domestic and international journals, along with the release of 30 books encompassing theoretical works, translations, and compiled materials (including textbooks). Furthermore, our faculty and students have successfully led and contributed to 3 projects funded by the National Social Science Fund and 2 provincial/ministerial research initiatives.
At the helm of our program is Zhang Yun, a distinguished Ph.D. holder and Professor. Our esteemed faculty comprises 1 professor, 2 associate professors, and 4 doctors, with key academic leaders and scholars such as Associate Senior Translator Chen Wei, Associate Professor Cai Daiyan, Dr. Feng Fang, Dr. Liu Yanyan, and Dr. Li Junhong driving our research endeavors forward.
Our program offers three specialized research tracks:
1. German Literature: Delving into the rich tapestry of German literary works and their cultural significance.
2. German-Chinese Translation Studies: Fostering expertise in the nuanced art of translating between German and Chinese languages.
3. German Language and Culture: Exploring the intricacies of the German language and its cultural contexts.
