The Master's Degree Program in Japanese Language and Literature, accredited by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council in 2006, stands as a testament to our commitment to fostering excellence in Japanese language, literature, and cultural studies. Anchored by the esteemed "Foreign Languages and Literatures Literature" research hub for humanities and social sciences in Zhejiang's higher education institutions,, and further enriched by the presence of the Institute of Japanese Studies, our program is dedicated to nurturing top-tier talents in Japanese language teaching, translation, and research.
Over the years, we have carved a niche for ourselves in the realms of Sino-Japanese exchange history, linguistics, Japanese history and culture, and Japanese literature. Our academic achievements are reflected in over 100 papers published in prestigious domestic and international journals, as well as more than 30 academic (translated) works that have made significant contributions to the field. Furthermore, our faculty and researchers have successfully secured 4 projects funded by the National Social Science Fund.
At the helm of our program is Zhang Nan, a distinguished Professor and PhD holder in Literature. Our esteemed faculty includes 1 professor, 3 associate professors, and 8 doctors, with key scholars such as Associate Professor Li Guangzhi, Associate Professor Yang Jianhua, Dr. Cai Fengxiang, Dr. Li Xue, Dr. Feng Yinghua, Dr. Huang Libin, Dr. Chen Wen, and Dr. Chen Mengxia leading our research endeavors.
Our program offers three specialized research tracks:
1. Japanese Linguistics: Exploring the intricacies of the Japanese language and its linguistic structures.
2. Japanese Literature: Delving into the rich tapestry of Japanese literary works and their cultural significance.
3. Japanese Culture: Uncovering the depths of Japanese culture, traditions, and societal dynamics.
